BRILLIANT FIRST DATES

Dating Safety

dating safety uk

Start very slowly. Look out for someone who seems to be too good to be true. Start by communicating by e-mail. Lookout for odd behavior. The person you are e-mailing may not be who you think. Trust your gut instincts. If anything makes you feel unsure then you should walk away for your own protection.

Be anonimous to start with. Don't include your surname, e-mail address, phone number, place of work, or any other information in your first e-mails with other people. Make sure your e-mail signature file is not turned on.

Use Caution and Common Sense. Careful, well-thought decisions will lead to better results in dating.

Ask for a photograph to give you a good idea of the person, and it is sensible to ask for several photographs of this person in a variety of places: casual, formal, indoor, outdoors. If he or she refuses to do this then walk away.

You can try talking to them by telephone. Use a public phone to start with if you are worried about disclosing your number. If you are not sure then walk away.

Meet When YOU Are Ready and not before.

Meet in a public place - bring a friend if you are concerned.
Make your own way to the meeting.
Tell someone who, when and where you are meeting your correspondent - you could ask them to call you on your mobile (borrow one if you don`t have one) say 15 minutes into the date so if you do not feel safe you can make an escuse and leave - your child is ill etc..
Do not give out your e-mail, address, telephone number, work address until you are confident about your correspondent
If you have any doubts whatsoever then don`t meet them and stop talking to them - there are plenty more fish in the sea and Mr or Mrs Wonderful is just an e-mail or a phone call away!
